Congratulations to the MPhil Econ, MSc Econ, and UG (BBA Econ, BSc ECOF, BSc MAEC) Class of 2022 on their accomplishments. Their hard work and perseverance have paid off despite the impact of the pandemic on regular classes and many other aspects of life in the past few years.

Emceed by Prof. Yao Li, the department’s ceremonial session of the 30th Congregation was held on December 3rd, 2022. Prof. Kar Yan Tam, Dean of the School of Business and Management, delivered an opening speech at the ceremony. Prof. David Cook, the Acting Head of Economics, presented the graduates of all degrees and programs of the department while Prof. Jenny Xu read out the names of the graduates. 

Mr. Andrew Christian Tan Lee, the recipient of the degree of BSc ECOF and additional majors in MGMT and in OM, represented the graduates to deliver the valedictory address. “We came holding blank canvases wanting to be worked on. HKUST represents the easel that sets the environment, which cultivates growth opportunities and endless possibilities.”
