Conversation with my Econ Professor
19 Apr 2022

This time, we are happy to have Prof. Junlong Feng, Assistant Professor of the Department of Economics, to be the speaker.

At this event titled “Estimating Your Parameter of Interest,” Prof. Feng shared the story of how he got interested in Economics and Mathematics.

Prof. Feng had been learning about different Economic models since his junior year of his undergraduate studies and believed that Microeconomics was the field that interested him the most. It was only during his postgraduate studies, however, that Prof. Feng found himself fascinated by Econometrics, and the transition was not straightforward. Prof. Feng suggested that, sometimes, it does take time for one to figure out what one likes and does not like to do. It is important to be ready to devote a lot of time, be brave to explore, and work hard on the things that one really finds interesting or important.

Thank you, Prof. Feng, for the inspiring talk!

This event concluded on April 14, 2022. Watch the event video.
