In this virtual event, Professor Wooyoung Lim shared with 50+ students his inspiring and unconventional life story, and answered the question: “Why did none of my friends expect me to be an Econ professor?”

Having had a troubled life during his childhood in Korea, Prof. Lim only found his interest in Economics, or in Game Theory especially, while studying at university. He then worked his way up to finish his Ph.D. degree at the University of Pittsburgh, leading to his current job at HKUST.

Before concluding the event, Prof. Lim asked the audience to stay strong even when life gets tough because toughness in life “refines you, polishes you, and makes you stronger.”
