We are happy to have Associate Professor Hyuncheol Bryant Kim as the speaker of "Conversation with my Econ Professor", which took place on October 6th. The title of the event is "Economist, a social doctor".

In this event, Prof. Kim shared with students his journey of life so far, from being a medical student and doctor in South Korea, to joining HKUST as an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics. Prof. Kim suggested that being an Economist is like being a social doctor. With sufficient amount of data gathered, Economists can provide diagnosis and solutions to specific problems in the society, which could help formulating public policies as well.
