On May 12th, 2023, the HKUST Economics Farewell Dinner for the Class of 2023 was held at the campus restaurant China Garden. Over 120 students from the BBA Econ, ECOF, MAEC, and MSc (Econ) programs attended to celebrate their academic achievements and to show appreciation to their professors. 

The evening started with an opening remark from Prof. David Cook, the Acting Department Head of Economics, followed by inspiring speeches from Prof. Tao Zhu, the Academic Director of the MSc (Econ) program, and Prof. Wooyoung Lim, the UG Coordinator of the Economics department. 

Before dinner is served, the students were divided into groups to play a trivial game with questions about the University and Economics. It was an exciting atmosphere as students competed against one another in groups in the hopes of winning. Later in the evening, MSc (Econ) student Chen Guanping performed a song from the popular band Mayday, wishing our graduates a happy life after graduation.

Students enjoyed the food and accompany at the Farewell Dinner. This is also a valuable opportunity for them to celebrate and connect with classmates and professors. We wish our students the best in their future endeavors.
