Congratulations to the MPhil Econ, MSc Econ, and UG (BBA Econ, BSc ECOF, and BSc MAEC) graduating class of 2023 on their accomplishments!

Effective 3 July 2023, Prof. Kam Wing Siu has been named the new UG Coordinator of the Department of Economics.

Hosted by the HKUST Center for Economic Policy and the HKUST Department of Economics, the 16th China Economics Summer Institute will take place on August 23-24, 2023 at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The objective of CESI is to create a network and community of top level scholars working on Chinese economic development.

The Franklin Prize for Teaching Excellence was established in 2000 with donations from the Larry and Mei Kwong Franklin Endowment Fund. It is to recognize business faculty contributions in terms of teaching excellence in both undergraduate and graduate degree programs. 

On May 12th, 2023, the HKUST Economics Farewell Dinner for the Class of 2023 was held on campus at China Garden. Over 120 students attended to celebrate their academic achievements and to show appreciation to their professors.
