Can ECOF students declare an additional major or minor?

ECOF students can apply to declare an additional major (cross-school or within SBM), and/or minors. Students are expected to finish all major and minor courses within 4 years of study, and they are required to submit a valid study plan when they apply for the major or minor programs. Please observe the application timeline as it can vary from program to program.

ECOF students who wish to declare an additional BBA major must take the four courses required for BBA programs before graduation, including:

ACCT 2200
ISOM 2700
MARK 2120
MGMT 2110

To apply, students are required to complete the RR-47 form (available on the ARO webpage) and submit it to the program office with a detailed study plan for consideration.

Timeline: students are to submit the application after the 4th term of study from late June to early July.

Can ECOF students take Economics courses during exchange/virtual study abroad and transfer the course credits back to HKUST?

ECOF students are expected to take all major required courses at HKUST. Notwithstanding the above, students may transfer a maximum of ONE major required course back to HKUST.

Before going for exchange, students should check the Credit Transfer Database for the approved course mappings. If a course you plan to take does not already exist in the database, please submit a course equivalent assessment request with a detailed course syllabus to the Credit Transfer Application System for assessment.
